“ The Lux Box catered a memorial service for someone I know recently. The first thing I noticed was the presentation. The food display of turkey wings, baked chicken, Mac and cheese, yams, and greens had me at hello everything looked picture perfect. THEN the taste... delicous!! Ive NEVER been to a repass and the food was hitting like that. Whoever had their hands in the pots for the repass in west Oakland in February of 2025 needs to cook like that and only like that. One friend ate the plate in the car, expecting to only take a bite and leave and when she finished the whole plate, she forgot her car doors were open THAT good! When I tasted my plate, I hid it because I didnt want my family to know how good it was and I didnt have enough to share selfish, I know, idc, idc. And the pound cake assuming you catered that too?!?!?! One word G O!!! ”
“ Prefacing this with I am NOT from the area. First, I want to highlight the service. The young lady that was working the window today Mar 20th was so sweet and had a really positive attitude. This is important because, well, this is Oakland. The wait for the food will typically be about 3040 minutes so I highly recommend placing your order online and picking up when the time nears. This is NOT a dinein restaurant. You approach the window, grab your plate and GO. I love this model personally. Too many food service businesses try and do the barnightclub thing, sometimes its just too much. Also recommend keeping an eye on their instagram as they post when theyre sold out of something or if the hours are altered. This is a welloperated blackowned, small business and I had no hesitation spending my dollars here. Now for the food quality I got the Basa fish combo. I wasnt TOO crazy about the fish and wish it was fried harder which, im sure if you asked theyd accommodate. The flavor was there and it had some crunch. The shrimp was delicious. The star of the show, in my opinion were the YAMS and COLLARD GREENS. Im from the South and it was really nice to have found a place out west that sells true soul comforting food. The Strawberry Passion luxenade was on point THANK YOU for not making it taste like liquid diabetes! Overall 810 Expect to spend about 4050. Again, the Quality is there. ”

Me and hubby spent 75 with 10 tip for the Honey Salmon and Shrimp with 2 sides and the lamb chops with two sides!!! Uggggghhhhh!!! That SALMON is IT!!!! with the sauce!!!!! And yellow rice under!!! My COMPLIMENTS to the chef!!! We ate half and still had half to eat for dinner!!! Mac and cheese is delicious and the yams!!! Woooooooo!!!!! Please add some chicken and waffles to the menu cuz baaaaybeeee I WILL be back for it, the salmon and the OXTAILS...!
